My name is Toni and I am the Food Access Network Program Manager for UTOPIA Washington. Our Food Access Network stands as a cornerstone of community empowerment and cultural preservation. Within the realm of our Food Access Network, our initiatives are as diverse as the communities we serve. From supporting community farming initiatives to hosting vibrant cultural exchange events like Taste of MANA, we strive to foster connections and celebrate the rich variety of food traditions. Learn more about our work at: Food Access Network - UTOPIA Washington.We are currently seeking land to lease to grow our Faʻato'aga program, increasing our efforts to connect our community to land, teaching community how to farm culturally relevant fresh foods, and focus on collaborative efforts with Indigenous caretakers of these lands.
Our ideal land lease would be 2-10 acres. Access to a greenhouse would be preferred but UTOPIA is also willing to fundraiser and install the appropriate infrastructure, per the landowner's permission. Access to clean water and electricity are essential. The farm will also serve as a space for educating and hosting community gatherings, so UTOPIA visitors must be permitted. Additional infrastructure like tool storage, wash/pack shed, or equipment are a bonus but not necessary.
