We are Joyce and Peter, partners seeking land to establish a new farm business in Washington State. While 2025 will be our first year operating a farm business in the U.S., Joyce brings approximately 10 years of hands-on farming experience from Kenya, where she worked with crops and livestock using primarily manual labor and low-input systems.Over the past year, we have spent time visiting farms and participating in farm tours in Washington, particularly in Pierce County, as we prepare to launch our operation. We plan to continue building skills through farmer education programs and other training opportunities.
Our initial crop focus includes maize, spinach, kale, potatoes, and broccoli, with the potential to expand into additional crops over time. In the longer term, we are interested in incorporating chickens and possibly other livestock, though livestock activities and zoning are flexible and not a dealbreaker.
