Description:
I am seeking land to lease for a small flock of fiber sheep. I currently work for WSU Extension as a livestock specialist, specializing in livestock and forage production. Prior to moving to eastern Washington, I managed multiple livestock operations in Oregon, including a 300+ acre diversified livestock operation and an educational farm for a community college. I have also spent time working on vegetable farms.I previously raised a small flock of fiber sheep in Oregon and am looking to establish a flock again in Washington. Through my work for WSU Extension, I conduct research and host educational events related to livestock and grazing. I am also a professional sheep shearer and do shearing work on weekends in the spring and fall.
I have experience with rotational grazing and would like to find a landowner relationship where I can help maintain and improve the land. I am open to a straightforward land lease where I bring my own sheep, as well as conversations with landowners who already have sheep and are interested in a partnership or additional livestock care. I am not looking to operate someone else's livestock business, but would be open to a casual partnership arrangement.
Preferred Location: Within approximately 1 hour of the Tri-Cities. Walla Walla, Prosser, Grandview, and surrounding areas are also of interest.
Ideal Property:
• Land suitable for a small flock of sheep
