I am an experienced grower seeking to purchase farmland in Thurston County to establish and grow my own farm business. I am looking for a property between 4 and 20 acres that offers reliable access to water for agricultural use and healthy soils suitable for organic production. Because I plan to make the farm my long-term home, I am interested in properties with an existing residence or the potential to build a house.My agricultural background includes several years of hands-on experience in diverse farming and food system roles. I have worked as a farm employee, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer, completed graduate-level studies related to agriculture and natural resources, grown plants at a university research center, and worked as a farm technical service provider. In addition, I managed a small Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Over the past four years, I have cultivated vegetables, berries, and fruit on 0.18-acre of homestead plots, further developing my production and farm management skills.
Through these experiences, I have gained practical knowledge across many aspects of farming and am ready to establish a small-scale diversified farm operation. My vision includes integrating vegetables, fruit crops, berries, and perennial trees with livestock and managed pasture rotations to create a productive and resilient farming system.
Stewardship of the land is a central value in my farming approach. My goal is to grow nutritious food while improving soil health and environmental sustainability through practices such as cover cropping, soil testing, compost application, crop rotation, irrigation and nutrient management, and careful crop planning. I am committed to building a farm that supports both long-term productivity and ecological health.
I am also open to creative land tenure and conservation arrangements, including properties with a conservation easement or opportunities that involve a land succession plan. My goal is to establish a farm that can serve the community while ensuring responsible stewardship of the land for future generations.
