Description:I started my farm business with my wife in 2017, and currently farm 2 acres of strawberries at the Viva Farms incubator, and 3 acres of blueberries on our land on Whidbey Island. I have been working in agriculture, in both California and Washington, since 1998. Our farm is a family business, run by myself and my wife. We built the business together and share in the management of the entire operation. Our children help out as well, but it is most to us that they go to school.
We are currently looking for additional land to plant more strawberries, as well as raspberries. Because strawberries require rotation every two years, we need more land to expand our operation. We need a minimum 2-year lease for strawberries. If we could find a 5+ year lease, we would like to plant raspberries as well.
It is essential that the land has water and is more or less ready to cultivate. We would prefer if it is already certified organic land, but at the very least, it cannot have been sprayed in the past 3 years.
