Description:My name is Rachel S. and myself and my farm partner, Karine B., are looking to begin our farm in Pierce County in the 2024 season. I am currently completing my third internship year at Wildnow Farm in Manson, WA. Karine and I met working as interns at Early Bird Farm in Tacoma, WA in 2022 and would like to continue working together to build our own farm! Next year, we are looking to begin small to start building up a customer base, test our crop plans and develop processes to most effectively grow vegetables. We are looking to farm no-till and organically, using some methods from Korean Natural Farming and Jadaam as necessary. Our long term dream is to plant a polyculture orchard of fruit trees, nut trees, cane fruit and bush fruit to mimic a mature forest and produce food in as low an impact manner as possible, using adapted varieties and animals to manage the land. As we would like to use as many perennial food plants as possible, we are looking for land that we can farm in the long term, or for land we can use in the short term to build our customer base.
