Description:We currently own Makarios Acres Farm, a thriving meat business in Buckley, WA. We started out farm from the ground up, having no previous experience or close family that farmed. We've been established for about 8 years. We produce about 400 hogs, 15 beef, several hundred chicken, and varying amounts of lamb and goat. We have an online store, offer subscriptions, delivery, and sell at Farmer's Markets. We also offer land management services using goats and sheep (i.e. goat grazing, blackberry management, etc)
We're currently transporting our animals about 3-6 hours round trip for slaughter/butcher services (which have been shut down multiple times and very unpredictable) so our hope for our new place would be to eventually have butchering on-site which would reduce our cost and allow us to have better control over cut/wrap.
We have four children we homeschool, and we're quickly outgrowing our current house and land.
