Description:We are seeking to lease or buy land in or around the Tacoma area. We want to see more small operations in the city providing fresh food, resources, and education to those who desire to know where their food is coming from. Ideally, we would have a plot of land that provided food for 10-50 CSA shares. However, realistically we understand land in the city and surrounding is hard to come by. We would be happy just expanding our current operation and seeing what potential the land holds for crops to sell beyond us.
A little about us:
Hi! Thanks for getting this far I am Amy and my partner is Ryan. We are both professionally educators with various forms of agricultural experience. We are currently micro-homesteading, using what we currently have access to. We have laying hens and are producing and preserving enough fruits and veggies to eliminate the need to buy many crops and support a few neighbors. Collectively we have experience in urban, rural, commercial, micro-urban homesteading, and community based farming projects. We have a passion for local food and want to provide a resource for the community that we call home. My understanding of homesteading/self-sufficiency and community agriculture was formed at a very early age as I was raised on a vegetable farm in the southeast. I also have a background in marketing and a deep understanding of WSDA regulations and applications. Ryan is the master of all farm spreadsheets from the seed catalog to the farm planner. We both share the labor and enjoy the reward of growing and sharing food.
