Description:Couple Seeking "Forever" Property; intent to manage land with permaculture/silvopasture practices & conservation practices (partial land use=conservation, remaining land use=marketable sales production
My husband and I have moved to Ridgefield, WA and have begun searching for a property to steward and apply permaculture style farming practices. Currently farming on rented property, with 1 acre in aquaponics, and around 3 acres going into production in 2022. Our livestock experience is primarily with ducks, although we'd like to explore other livestock management options further down the line. We primarily focus on retail sales marketing for our product distribution (i.e. restaurants, farm stand, CSA, farmers markets), and hope to increase our production yields/local consumer base within the next 5 years.
Eventually, our goal is to operate an agricultural education center with multiple dwellings. Ideally, we are looking for a partially forested property where the current owners/landholders have either fostered similar stewardship practicum or intend for land successors to foster sustainable practices onsite in perpetuity. We are open to discussion if the current landholders wanted to explore transition/succession planning with land available. We are very flexible in terms of providing our own infrastructure/startup materials/tools and where we'd like to break ground for our permanent house (ideally Clark County, but also amenable to surrounding counties).
