I'm not currently farming. I grew up on a non-commercial, diversified farm in NW Oregon (cattle, garden, orchard, berries). Since then I have worked on a dozen or so small farms as an intern and employee, while often maintaining a large personal garden with chickens or ducks. I'm interested in regenerative, low-till farming using organic practices.
I'm looking to lease land in Kitsap County (flexible to Pierce & Thurston as well), as buying doesn't seem realistic. I would consider partnering with a co-farmer if we were a good fit. I'm interested in starting small with some row crops, flowers, berries, and birds, which I would market at a self-serve farmstand or perhaps online. Eventually I will experiment with some value added products and, if approved by the land owner, agritourism. I'm open to different scales, from a half acre residential lot to a larger property where I could dial in pasture management using livestock.
I plan to keep my job and farm on the side.
I am seeking housing onsite for my partner and I. We're open to creative housing arrangements if the property lacks a vacant unit; we have a tiny house if electrical/water hookups are available
I look forward to making connections through Farm to Farmer.
