Looking to expand our current minimal till 1/2 acre operation (using organic methods), preferably with a long-term lease or lease-to-own option; straying away from too large of a parcel to minimize mechanical cultivation/production practices in our fields (we primarily utilize hand-tools, although considering electrical mechanized application).We are two farmers with journalism backgrounds invigorated and motivated to employ regenerative/permaculture land management practices as we continue to grow our operation-- currently leasing a half ace of land in Puget Sound area. We specialize in Asian vegetables and sell at Seattle farmers markets; as of this year, we opened up sales in the SFM stream and aim to create accessible retail markets of culturally relevant varieties for multi-generational BIPOC/AAPI households. We try to reuse the majority of our materials to minimize new resource production/waste generation within our farm operation.
Ideally, we'd like to increase our acreage to 5-10 acres to continue our current operation/agriculture practices and incentivize/normalize minimal land disturbance while promoting healthy, symbiotic ecosystems, specifically through native plant management/integration & soil biome rehabilitation. While we are looking for a larger parcel of land, we aim to cultivate no more than 2 acres.
