For Lease
Number of Acres: 146
Location: Ellensburg
Land Description:
Looking for well-seasoned farmer with multi-year crop/land management plan whose practices focus on mutually beneficial relationships between wildlife, riparian ecosystems, and thoughtfully incorporated agriculture.
Property Details: Approximately 10 miles NE of Ellensburg. Approximately 146 acres. Approximately 45 acres tillable. Approximately 42 acres of shrub-steppe. Water rights, with priority date of 1880, to 50 acres of water sourced from Naneum-Wilson Creek (run from April-Oct, 1 CFS max diversion). Has been in pasture for the last 20 years, prior to that it was a working dairy farm, where hay and grain was grown for use on the farm. Currently in due process for establishing a conservation easement on the property. Tenant would be responsible for: house rent & utilities; no rent/acre seeing as investment in available infrastructure would offset that annual cost (flexible and willing to discuss specifics with the right candidate).
Available Infrastructure:
Irrigation system consists of handline and gated pipe. Handline is 3" aluminum handline with 4" aluminum mainline. Gated pipe is 6" and 8". There are 4 streams flowing through the property - 2 are historic irrigation ditches and 2 are branches of Naneum Creek;
There is a residence on the property, 3 bedroom 2 bath, (fully functional, needs minor updates spec. flooring) with numerous outbuildings several of which need repairs and upgrades (fencing, storage, barn, etc. available but needs significant restoration from long-term lack of management. There is a milking parlor.
We are looking for somebody, who cares about the land and wants to care for the land, to lease the property with the potential of purchasing it in the future (considered only after a working relationship has been developed).
