Description:Melony Edwards is a first-generation farmer. In 2016 Edwards landed on a 20-acre year around mixed vegetable farm in rural Western Washington where she immersed herself in small-scale agricultural practices and worked her way up to farm manager. Now, she serves as a board member for the National Young Farmers Coalition, a national advocacy network fighting for the future of Agriculture.
Currently working with the Organic Seed Alliance (a Chimmicum based non-profit), one of Edwards' many goals is to foster a larger community of farmers stewarding open-pollinated seeds that will thrive in the PNW cooler climate. Edwards also has experience farming in Alaska.
Additionally, Edwards advocates for policy reform on national organic platforms. Her farming adventures continue as she pursues her own farm vision in launching Ebony By Nature, a textile art farm, and extending her knowledge in seed growing and saving.
