Shy Acre Farm, a new demonstration farm located in the heart of Port Townsend, is currently accepting proposals for the lease of 1 acre of farmland and building sites (with the potential for future lease-to-own). The farm is central to a new intergenerational and inclusionary planned unit development (180 housing units planned) run by Port Townsend Preservation Alliance, LLC . The farm and incorporated green spaces will be preserved for food production, community-based gardening, arts, and culinary programs. There are lots of potential revenue streams and ways to contribute/engage with the planned community.

Farmer Candidate
We are searching for a farmer/farmers or farmer collective to lease the 1 available acre of farmland, 2 greenhouses, and potentially additional orchard space on the property.
We are searching for a creative, collaborative farmer who is interested in making this farmland not only productive but also an educational space for sharing farming with the community. One aspect of farming here will be some level of teaching about farming with children at the childcare center on site. Farmer will be able to earn revenue for this enterprise.
The applicant(s), must have experience in farming, preferably sustainable agriculture, and community-based program development. The respondent will enter into an agreement with Shy Acre Farm, LLC and Port Townsend Preservation Alliance, LLC
