Description:
We are Emma and Sean, a couple seeking land to create a regenerative food forest farm. Our ideal property is roughly about 10 acres of raw land that is zoned for building a house and raising animals. We are open to purchasing land, renting to own, or other creative longterm options that allow us to invest in our own home and infrastructure.Our farm plan includes cultivating an inner food forest (about 1-2 acres) surrounded by a silvopasture/pasture mix. We will use animals such as pigs and chickens to prepare the land for planting. Once established, we will rely on forest-compatible livestock such as geese and guinea hens to allow for a diverse understory of plants. In the surrounding silvopasture, we will raise some combination of chickens, sheep, and dairy cows. The goal of this project is diversity in plants, animals, and fungi.
We will also build a small home on the property. The house will use natural building techniques and materials (ie passive solar, natural insulation, etc).
We have started our farming career on Lopez Island in the San Juans. While we would love an opportunity to build this vision there, we would be open to any possibilities in western Washington.
We are open to anything in Western Washington.
