My husband and I were both raised in Western Washington, next summer we will be moving home. Ideally looking for acreage in Western Washington, 5 acres or more, livestock capability preferred. Since we met, he and I have each spent time working on farms. Brandon worked on a goat dairy for a few months, then a homestead as an all around farmhand. I've spent the past 8 months on a medium sized sheep farm in Ohio, around 200 ewes. At our home we have the garden and a backyard chicken flock that I've had some fun playing around with selective breeding. To protect our chickens, we also have two livestock guardian dogs who will make the move with us.What we are looking for is flexible because we want to be realistic. Currently, we're open to anything from homesteading on a few acres, all the way up to purchasing 100 acres or more to build on, and most options in between. If a contract could be drawn up to protect all parties involved, we are also open to a lease to own agreement.
My interests are geared towards sheep in silvopasture, rotational grazing, following hoofed stock with poultry. My husband had an aquaponics set up at one of our homes and would like to give that a go again at some point. In a perfect world, I would want to be as self sufficient as possible while making at least some profit from sales to supplement my husband's work as a tree trimmer.
