Description:About me in brief: I have been on-again/off-again farming since 2009; I have worked on/for eight farms in three states (Texas, California, and Oregon), starting as an apprentice and working as part of a field crew, I've also spent time managing a CSA, overseeing greenhouse activity, working as a "animal husbandry journeyman," and acting as an "assistant farm manager." Most recently my wife and I owned and operated a small certified organic cut-flower and vegetables-seed farm just outside of Eugene OR; we were forced to close this farm due to the landlord deciding to sell the property.
In between farming, I've made ends meet in various ways; for the last 6 years, this has involved working as an organic farm inspector, so I've managed to stay in touch with the sustainable ag community even when not farming.
My long-term goal is to have a viable farm business that supports my family and community with nourishing food and furthers the goal of establishing local and regional resiliency in the face of a changing climate (in particular by developing regional adapted varieties through seed saving and selection).
