My plan is to formalize my farm business: a certified organic mixed vegetable and perennial fruit farm. Lettuce and heritage corn are two of the crops I am most excited to cultivate. I completed training at the incubator program Viva Farms. I also took all three modules of WSU's course: Cultivating Success (3 classes focused on creating, sustaining, and growing a viable small farm). I also engaged with the Master Gardener's program as well as turned my entire backyard into a sea of raised beds.I need access to water and prefer that it be from a well, not municipal water. It would be nice to have access to storage and electricity, although I am happy to provide these for myself. (I have solar panels I would mount on a mobile shed.) I do not plan to use heavy equipment, so regular access would be sufficient.
I believe in giving back to the community by donating to local organizations in need. Ideally this farm would be located on Whidbey Island.
