Land Description:***PENDING SITE VISIT. Email email@example.com for more information.
We live on an abandoned 1970s homestead / chicken farm on 12 acres in Stevens County. The birds, pigs, rabbits, horses, etc. are gone, but the plants remain: 30+ mixed fruit trees, and even more berries, brambles, and grapes, all organically grown.
Land The land is quiet, full of wildlife, surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest [with miles of hiking trails], and a short walk to a lake. Close to Spokane [30 mi] for supplies, social, and culture. We irrigate from our 16 GPM well only in late summer when our rainfall cistern goes dry. Many garden areas and fields have been fallow for years. A nearby 3 bed/2 bath house may be available for rent, otherwise off grid RV living is possible with water and power close.
Plans. Our intention is to continue growing our food, but also to make possible spaces for others, such as botanic experimenters to test their ideas and develop their skills, or those needing a place to manage / grow a small ag business [no pot]. We are open to long term arrangement[s] and are ready to work to find/create win-win options. We are especially interested in farming models that would include consideration for disadvantaged members of society. We would like to see our land be a resource and a benefit for both the farmer and for society in general.
That's our situation. We have the land, location, and infrastructure, but much unused potential. We know this process of reaching out through the ether can be insanely cumbersome. We do not need penpals or for people to come by to visit because they have nothing else to do. If interested, please be aware that your response to this ad will be your primary introduction to us. We will try to answer all [most] responses, but our priority will be to respond first to those willing to share some of themselves such as experiences, interests, goals,.. It is easier for us to respond back to a human instead of some entity lurking somewhere out there in the ether, possibly for nefarious reasons.
